Top Rank Boxing returns to the “The World’s Most Famous Arena” on Saturday, March 14th when the pride of Newark, NJ, Shakur Stevenson makes his first defense of his WBO Featherweight World Title against three-time world title challenger Miguel Marriaga.
Stevenson (13-0, 7 KOs), the 22-year-old phenom on the cusp of pound-for-pound greatness, was the first male boxer from the 2016 Rio Olympics to win a professional world title.
One of the hardest punchers in the division, Colombia’s Marriaga (29-3, 25 KOs) will look to dethrone Stevenson and claim his first ever world title when he steps into The Garden’s famed Boxing ring.
The card will also feature former Junior Featherweight World Champion, Jessie Magdaleno (27-1, 18 KOs) against the unbeaten Sakaria Lukas (23-0, 16 KOs) in a 10-round featherweight showdown.
