Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams to Headline First Televised Show Against Patrice Volny on March 15

Middleweight contender Austin “Ammo” Williams will headline his first televised event on March 15 in Orlando, Florida, facing Montreal’s Patrice Volny at the Caribe Royale. The bout, part of a DAZN broadcast, marks a pivotal moment in Williams’ career as he looks to bounce back from his first professional loss.

A Comeback for Williams

Williams (17-1, 12 KOs) is returning to the ring after suffering an 11th-round knockout against Hamzah Sheeraz (21-0, 17 KOs) last June in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Despite the defeat, the 28-year-old southpaw rebounded with a fifth-round knockout of Gian Garrido (11-2, 8 KOs) in November, showcasing his resilience.

This fight will be Williams’ fourth in just over a year, illustrating his commitment to maintaining momentum in his career. He’s excited to make his televised headliner debut:

“Ten years ago, I was blessed with a dream, a dream that spelled out boxing in strobe lights,” said Williams. “Every ounce of my focus and energy has been dedicated to achieving this goal. And here we are, announcing the premier of the ‘Ammo Show.’ I’m ready to display my greatness and inspire the world. Expect laughter, tears, and an explosive finish in Orlando.”

Volny’s Rise

Patrice Volny (19-1, 13 KOs) is coming off a three-fight win streak, including a notable ninth-round stoppage of Steven Butler (34-4-1) last June in Montreal. At 35, Volny’s career is hitting its peak, and this fight represents the next big step in his pursuit of a middleweight title shot.

Volny, who has only fought once in the U.S. before (a technical decision loss to Esquiva Falcao in 2019), is eager to prove he belongs at the top of the division:

“This is a fight I specifically asked my team for,” Volny said. “I want to thank Matchroom for making it a reality. This is a great opportunity, and on March 15, I will show I belong at the top of the middleweight division. It’s time to go to war!”

Omari Jones’ Pro Debut

The March 15 event will also feature the pro debut of Omari Jones, a junior middleweight from Orlando who earned a bronze medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Jones, who is the only U.S. boxer to medal in the light middleweight category, will fight a six-round bout on the card.

“I’m excited to be fighting in my hometown,” Jones said. “After years of competing overseas, I’m ready to make my pro debut and showcase my skills. Expect a masterclass performance, where I’ll demonstrate my speed, power, and adaptability to the pro game. I want to shock the fans on March 15!”
