All-British welterweight clash headlines at AO Arena, live worldwide on DAZN
Jack Catterall will return to Manchester looking to restart his world title ambitions, but this time it’s up at welterweight—and standing in his way is the undefeated and increasingly dangerous Harlem Eubank.
The pair will collide in a headline attraction at the AO Arena on Saturday, July 5, live globally on DAZN, with the fight promoted by Matchroom Boxing in association with Wasserman Boxing.
A New Weight, A New Mission
Catterall (30-2, 13 KOs) moves up to 147 pounds following his razor-thin split decision loss to Arnold Barboza Jr. back in February. It was his second career defeat and a bitter setback in his bid for world honours at 140—but now, the Chorley man is determined to make a statement at welterweight.
“I’m eager to put on a big performance and make a statement,” said Catterall. “The Eubank name is hot at the moment, but I’m ready to put the fire out in style.”
Eubank Looking to Seize the Spotlight
Brighton’s Harlem Eubank (21-0, 9 KOs) is unbeaten since turning pro in 2017 and comes into the fight on the back of a dominant stoppage over Tyron McKenna in March. The 31-year-old has quietly worked his way through the domestic scene—but now gets his biggest test yet.
“This is a fight that’s been on my radar for a long time,” said Eubank. “Jack is world class, but I’m ready. Timing is everything, and this fight couldn’t have come at a better moment.”
Promoters Expect Fireworks
Promoter Eddie Hearn believes this is another crowd-pleasing domestic matchup that could carry major implications.
“Both men are huge names in British boxing. Jack has proved he belongs at world level, and Harlem is looking to do the same. This one’s going to deliver.”
Kalle Sauerland, Global Head of Boxing at Wasserman, added:
“You can’t beat a domestic dust-up. Catterall vs. Eubank has all the makings of a classic.”
Managers Trade Expectations
Sam Jones, manager of Catterall:
“Jack is a world-level fighter. He’ll make this one very conclusive.”
Jamie Conlan, manager of Eubank:
“Harlem has beaten two of Jack’s past opponents more convincingly. This is the perfect time to make his mark on world boxing.”
DAZN: “What a Fight We Have in Store”
Alfie Sharman, DAZN VP, summed it up:
“Fight fans love a proper, well-matched domestic clash. Jack has something to prove, and Harlem is ready to shine.”
