The final opportunity for boxers to secure their place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is here. From May 24 to June 2, 2024, the 2nd World Qualification Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand, will determine the last 51 spots available for the Olympic boxing competition.
High Stakes in Bangkok
A total of 578 boxers, representing 132 National Olympic Committees and the Boxing Refugee Team, will compete in this crucial event. The tournament will feature seven weight categories for men and six for women. Out of the 51 Olympic spots up for grabs, 28 are designated for men and 23 for women.
The Road to Qualification
This final qualification event follows five Continental Qualifying tournaments, where 64 men and 75 women earned their tickets to Paris 2024. The journey continued with the 1st World Qualification Tournament in Italy, resulting in 28 men and 21 women securing their places.
Historic Equality in Boxing
Upon the conclusion of the Bangkok event, the remaining nine Olympic boxing spots will be allocated as Universality places. This milestone will lead to an equal number of male and female boxers—124 each—competing at the Olympic Games for the first time in history.
