Queensberry Promotions has strengthened its roster with three high-profile signings, unveiling former interim world champion Joshua Buatsi, European light heavyweight champion Bradley Rea, and Olympic gold medallist Tony Yoka. All three fighters will feature on DAZN, bringing international exposure to the growing UK-based promotion.
Joshua Buatsi Joins Queensberry
The 32-year-old Croydon native, Buatsi, a former WBO Interim World, European, British, and Commonwealth light heavyweight champion, returns to action following a first professional setback in February against Callum Smith. Buatsi, born in Accra, Ghana, turned professional in 2017 and holds a record of 19-1 with 13 KOs.
Buatsi captured the interim world title with a victory over Willy Hutchinson at Wembley Stadium and previously defeated European champion Dan Azeez.
“After speaking with multiple promoters, Queensberry has a plan I’m comfortable with,” Buatsi said. “The support from UK fans means everything, and with Queensberry, I’ve got a team that understands that. I can still make moves internationally while getting the right fights at the right time on my journey to becoming a world champion.”
Promoter Frank Warren added, “Joshua will be a major mover in the light heavyweight division and a natural candidate for world title fights once Bivol and Beterbiev settle their trilogy. We’ll keep him busy and ready for major challenges.”
Bradley Rea Signs with Queensberry
At 27, Manchester’s Bradley ‘The Sting’ Rea is the reigning European light heavyweight champion and joins Queensberry after a string of misfortunes in his career, including opponent withdrawals. Rea jumped up from middleweight after an English title points loss in 2022 and has since compiled five consecutive stoppage victories.
“I feel like I finally belong at this stage,” Rea said. “I want to be on big shows, against big names, and Frank and Queensberry can make that happen.”
Warren said, “Brad is fully deserving of this opportunity. The light heavyweight division is booming with talent, and he’s now positioned to shine on a major DAZN platform.”
Tony Yoka Joins the Promotion
The 31-year-old French Olympic gold medallist Tony Yoka also signs with Queensberry, further enhancing the promotion’s international profile. Yoka, a former WBA Heavyweight World Champion, brings global experience and marquee value to the UK-based promotion.
“Tony is a massive addition to our roster,” Warren said. “His Olympic pedigree and professional success provide DAZN audiences worldwide with world-class heavyweight action. We’re excited to showcase him in the UK and globally.”
With this triple signing, Queensberry aims to solidify its standing as a leading promoter in the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions, combining domestic stars with international talent for shows available worldwide on DAZN.
