Ernie Terrell picks up the vacant WBA by  beating Eddie Machen in a 15 Round Unanimous Decision at the International Amphitheatre in Chicago, Illinois. It was the 13th straight victory for Terrell whose record improved to 37-4.  Ali was still recognized as champion by the NYSAC-WBC-THE RING
