Eddie Hearn Launches Unscripted Series Exploring Boxing Culture and Beyond
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is stepping into a different kind of spotlight with the launch of Unscripted, a new discussion series designed to explore the biggest talking points in boxing and wider popular culture.
Hosted by Hearn himself, Unscripted strips away the formal press conference setting and replaces it with open conversation, sharp opinions, and unfiltered insight from voices both inside and outside the sport.
Episode One Sets the Tone
The debut episode wastes no time tackling subjects that are shaping modern boxing. Central to the discussion is the heavyweight division, which was buzzing following Anthony Joshua’s title reclaiming victory over Andy Ruiz in Saudi Arabia. The panel also dives into the continued rise of YouTube boxing after KSI vs Logan Paul 2, a crossover movement that has permanently altered the sport’s commercial landscape.
Beyond the ropes, episode one branches into broader cultural territory, touching on current trends in comedy and grime, highlighting how boxing continues to intersect with music, entertainment, and youth culture.
A Diverse Lineup of Voices
Episode one features a varied and engaging guest list, bringing together figures from different worlds with a shared connection to boxing.
Appearing on the show are grime pioneer and lifelong fight fan Wiley, British actor and comedian Tom Davis, popular YouTube creator Joe Weller, and undefeated cruiserweight world title contender Lawrence Okolie. The mix delivers perspective from fighters, fans, and cultural influencers, giving the discussion a wider lens than traditional boxing media.
Eddie Hearn on the Vision Behind Unscripted
Hearn made it clear that the series is part of a broader push to evolve Matchroom’s digital output and connect with fans in new ways.
“We are constantly striving for new ways to evolve our content output across our social media channels and I’m excited to launch the brand new Unscripted series for fans to enjoy,” said Hearn. “In episode one we talked a lot of boxing, the pros and cons of YouTube fights and a bit of comedy and grime. Make sure you give it a watch on the Matchroom Boxing YouTube channel.”
A Modern Take on Boxing Content
With Unscripted, Matchroom is leaning into conversation driven content that reflects how fans now consume boxing. Less scripted. Less promotional. More opinion, culture, and context.
If episode one is any indication, the series has the potential to become a regular stop for fans who want boxing talk that goes beyond rankings, belts, and press releases.
