Mark your calendars! On Saturday, October 26, Ellie Scotney will defend her IBF, WBO, and IBO Super-Bantamweight World Titles against unbeaten challenger Mea Motu. This exciting bout is part of the undercard for Jack Catterall’s highly anticipated Super-Lightweight clash against Regis Prograis, live from Co-op Live in Manchester. The event will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN.
Scotney’s Journey to the Top
Hailing from Catford, Ellie Scotney (9-0) has been on a meteoric rise in the boxing world. She claimed the IBF World Title by defeating Cherneka Johnson at the OVO Arena Wembley in June 2023. Scotney then went on to unify the 122-pound division by overcoming former WBO Champion Segolene Lefebvre at Manchester Arena in April.
Now, at 26 years old, Scotney faces her toughest challenge yet—defending her titles against the undefeated Mea Motu (19-0, 7 KOs), the IBF mandatory challenger from New Zealand. If successful, Scotney could soon be looking at even bigger fights, with potential unification matchups against WBA Champion Nazarena Romero and WBC Champion Yamileth Mercado on the horizon.

British and Commonwealth Title Showdown: Bellotti vs. Gomez Jr.
Another major fight on the card features Reece Bellotti (19-5, 14 KOs), who will defend his British and Commonwealth Super-Featherweight Titles against Manchester’s own Michael Gomez Jr. (21-1, 6 KOs). Bellotti, who has enjoyed a career resurgence, first gained momentum at York Hall in April 2022 with a seventh-round stoppage of Dean Dodge to capture the Southern Area Title. With four consecutive victories, Bellotti is now on the verge of securing the prestigious British Title outright.
Hatton Seeks Redemption in Rematch with Flint
Also making waves is Campbell Hatton (14-1, 5 KOs), who will step back into the ring for a rematch against James Flint (14-2-2, 3 KOs). Hatton suffered the first loss of his professional career to Flint earlier this year while challenging for the Central Area Super-Lightweight Title. Now, with a new training team led by Barry Smith at the Ben Davison Performance Centre, Hatton is looking for redemption and to get his career back on track.
Rising Stars to Watch
The event will also showcase some of the sport’s most exciting rising stars:
- Pat McCormack (5-0, 5 KOs) will compete for the vacant WBA Intercontinental Title against Argentina’s William Andres Herrera (16-3, 7 KOs).
- Ishmael Davis (13-0, 6 KOs) from Leeds and William Crolla (5-0, 4 KOs) from Manchester will be in action in the Super-Welterweight division.
- Liverpool’s Middleweight Ste Clarke (4-0, 1 KO) and Featherweight Joe McGrail (10-0, 5 KOs) will also feature on the undercard.
- Making her debut is Bantamweight talent Emily Whitworth from Heywood.
Ellie Scotney’s Statement
“I’ve been itching to get back in the ring ever since I unified the division in Manchester back in April,” said Scotney. “That night was like a dream come true, and it feels like Manchester is becoming my second home. Right now, my focus is on October 26. I’m determined to defend what’s mine and prove that I’m the best in the Super-Bantamweight division.”
