Sebastian Fundora to Defend WBC Super Welterweight Title Against Keith Thurman in Explosive PBC PPV on Prime Video – October 25
WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora will defend his 154-pound crown against former unified welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman in a blockbuster PBC Pay-Per-View headliner on Saturday, October 25, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and streamed worldwide on Prime Video.
The matchup promises a dramatic style clash, pitting Fundora’s imposing reach and knockout power against Thurman’s elite experience and championship pedigree. Fundora, fresh off a dominant stoppage of Tim Tszyu in July, looks to cement his standing atop the loaded super welterweight division, while Thurman seeks to capture a second division world title and bolster his Hall of Fame credentials.
Fundora: The Towering Threat
At 6-foot-6, Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) has quickly become one of boxing’s most imposing figures. He first claimed WBC and WBO titles in 2024 with a decision win over Tim Tszyu, followed by a knockout defense of Chordale Booker in March. Fundora then delivered a statement July rematch victory over Tszyu, ending the bout after seven rounds with a first-round knockdown. Trained by his father Freddy Fundora and alongside his younger sister, undisputed flyweight world champion Gabriela Fundora, Sebastian is part of the first brother-sister duo to simultaneously hold world titles.
“I’m excited to be in the ring again for the third time this year versus another former champion,” said Fundora. “Our preparation is on track. Expect a great performance from Fundora.”
Thurman: The Veteran Challenger
Keith Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) has defeated some of boxing’s best, including Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, and Robert Guerrero. He unified the WBA and WBC welterweight titles with a win over Garcia and has bounced back from his only defeat — a narrow split-decision loss to Manny Pacquiao in 2019. Thurman returned to winning ways in March with a third-round stoppage of Brock Jarvis, setting up this high-stakes clash.
“I’m honored to be back and fighting for the WBC Super Welterweight World Championship,” Thurman said. “Fundora is tough, just like me. On October 25, I’m climbing that mountain. Call it David vs. Goliath, but remember – I’m Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman. I’m walking straight into the fire, and it’s going to be a fight you don’t want to miss.”
Co-Main Event: Stephen Fulton Jr. vs. O’Shaquie Foster
The 12-round co-main features pound-for-pound standout Stephen Fulton Jr., WBC Featherweight World Champion, moving up in weight to challenge WBC Super Featherweight World Champion O’Shaquie Foster in a battle of champions at 130 pounds. Fulton (23-1, 8 KOs) aims to become a three-division champion, while Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) looks to assert his dominance in the higher weight class.
“I’m ready to become a three-division world champion,” Fulton said.
“The 130-pound division runs through me,” Foster responded.
Rising Stars on the Undercard
The pay-per-view also features:
- Jesus “Mono” Ramos Jr. vs. Shane Mosley Jr. – a fight for the Interim WBC Middleweight Title. Ramos (23-1, 19 KOs) is on a tear following three consecutive stoppages, while Mosley Jr. (22-4, 12 KOs) rides a five-fight winning streak.
- Isaac “La Bestia” Lucero – undefeated rising super welterweight (17-0, 13 KOs) opens the broadcast, continuing his surge after a May knockout victory.
