The Ohashi Boxing Gym in Japan announced on Wednesday that Naoya Inoue, the world’s undisputed bantamweight champion, will fight against American WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton on July 25.
The match was initially scheduled for May 7, but Inoue injured his hand while training earlier this month, leading to its postponement. The rescheduled bout will take place at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena.
Inoue, who will celebrate his 30th birthday on April 10, boasts a professional record of 24-0 with 21 knockouts, while Fulton, who will turn 29 on July 19, is also undefeated at 21-0 with eight KOs. Inoue aims to become the second Japanese man to win world titles in four weight classes, following Kazuto Ioka’s accomplishment in June 2019.
