The Eye of the Tiger event featuring Steven Butler and Steve Rolls has been rescheduled to March 7 in Montreal due to logistical issues. Originally planned for February 23 at the Colisée Desjardins in Victoriaville, the event will now take place at a later date while maintaining the commitment to present it in the Centre-du-Québec region.
On March 7, the Colisée Desjardins in Victoriaville will host an exciting showdown between Montrealer Steven Butler and Torontonian Steve Rolls, marking Eye of the Tiger’s inaugural event in the region.
“We’re thrilled to establish our presence in Victoriaville through this partnership with the Tigres. We’ve ensured that the premiere event at the Colisée Desjardins lives up to major league standards. Local duels always generate enthusiasm, and with Steven Butler and Steve Rolls, two Canadian boxers of international caliber, we’re poised to deliver an exceptional show,” states EOTTM president Camille Estephan.
Following adjustments to his training routine, Butler (33-4-1, 27 KOs) secured a victory against Ivan Alvarez on November 14th, stopping him in the ninth round. Under the guidance of his new trainer, John Scully, known as “Bang Bang” and currently ranked 1st in the 160 lb category in Canada, Butler aims to continue progressing and reclaim the top spot in the middleweight division, starting with the #2 Canadian, Rolls.
“I need to be the best version of Bang Bang to win against Rolls. I’m aware of that, and I’ll be ready. The changes in my team have already shown results, and in this fight, we’ll witness even more progress in my evolution,” says Butler.
Toronto’s Rolls (22-3, 12 KOs) boasts a solid track record since his professional debut, facing notable names in the division like Gennady Golovkin and Edgar Berlanga. Despite losing to Austin Williams last September, Rolls aims to showcase his resilience against Butler and prove he still belongs in the division. Boxing enthusiasts can anticipate an intense match between these two fighters, both determined to secure victory.
